Additionally, the advanced film screening that was supposed to take place on August 24 had to be postponed, along with the soundtrack.

The Sword Art Online Progressive films are based on the Progressive light novels written by creator Reki Kawahara. They retell and expand upon the series’ first main arc, known as the “Aincrad” story arc. This storyline follows Kirito, the main protagonist, and Asuna Yuuki as they get trapped in the virtual reality game Sword Art Online along with 10,000 other players. The two must fight their way through the main dungeon with the ultimate goal of defeating the game’s final boss and escaping the virtual world.

The plot of “Sword Art Online -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night” is currently being kept under wraps, but what is known is that Kirito and Asuna will be seeking out powerful equipment to defeat the boss on Floor 5 and progress further in the dungeon.

Fans of the series will be pleased to know that several members of the crew from the previous Progressive film, “Aria of a Starless Night” (2021), have returned to direct the sequel.
