Netflix unveils trailer for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1

Netflix has unveiled the first full trailer for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1, along with the exciting news of a December 20 release date. This two-part 3DCG movie focuses on Tristan, the son of Meliodas and a key character in The Seven Deadly Sins sequel, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights Of The Apocalypse.

The plot revolves around Prince Tristan, who grapples with controlling two immense powers inherited from his parents: the Demon Clan power of his father, Meliodas, and the Goddess Clan power of his mother, Elizabeth. When Elizabeth’s life is in danger, Tristan flees the kingdom and sets his sights on Edinburgh, where Deathpierce, a former member of the kingdom’s Holy Knights, resides. However, Deathpierce’s intentions remain shrouded in mystery, and as fate spins its wheel, even The Seven Deadly Sins are swept into the turmoil.

Ayumu Murase voices the main character, Tristan, with Mikako Komatsu lending her voice to his younger self. The talented cast also includes Yuuki Kaji as Meliodas, Sora Amamiya as Elizabeth, Jun Fukuyama as King, Aoi Yuuki as Diane, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ban, Yuuhei Takagi as Gowther, Kouki Uchiyama as Fairy, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Priest, and Youhei Azakami as Deathpierce.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Lands Part 2 Release Date

The staff behind The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 includes Noriyuki Abe as chief director, Bob Shirohata as director, Rintarou Ikeda as scriptwriter, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO and Hiroyuki Sawano as the music composers. Animation production is handled by Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack.

As the third installment in The Seven Deadly Sins anime movie series, Grudge of Edinburgh follows the success of The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky in 2018 and The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light in 2021. The franchise has also seen several anime seasons, with A1-Pictures producing the initial two seasons, the four-episode Signs of Holy War, and Prisoners of the Sky. Subsequent seasons and Cursed By Light were produced by Studio Deen. All of these adaptations draw inspiration from the manga series written by Nakaba Suzuki and published by Kodansha from 2012 to 2020.
